SOUTH END LIBRARY CLOSED TEMPORARILY

Due to a faulty water heater, the Library has sustained flooding and damage to mechanical and electrical equipment.  Contractors have been on site working to continue the cleanup, assess the damage, and make repairs. It is unclear how long the Library will need to remain closed.

In the meantime, all South End “holds” have been sent to the Central Branch of the Boston Public Library for pickup there.  The holds shelf is located on the first floor of the Boylston Building near the Borrowers Service Desk at 700 Boylston Street, Boston MA 02116.  You will receive a notification when your hold is ready for pickup.   

Please do not leave book donations for the upcoming Book Sale or returns at the South End Branch until it reopens, as staff is not here to handle them.  Thank you.

Tuesday:  12 p.m.–8 p.m.
Wednesday: 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
Thursday:  10 a.m.–6 p.m.
Friday:  9 a.m.–5 p.m.
Saturday:  9 a.m. - 2 p.m. (beginning Feb. 2, 2022)
Sunday:  Closed
