In a partnership with United South End Settlements the Children’s Art space at 48 Rutland Street is being used for Children’s Story Time offered by Librarian Margaret Gardener starting at 10:30 am on Thursdays.

Christina has started a book club called The Scoop.  It meets monthly on Tuesdays at FOMU Ice Cream at 655 Tremont St. from 2:00pm to 3:00pm.  November’s book is The Night Watchman by Louise Erdrich and December’s is Five Tuesdays in Winter by Lily King.  You can find more information including dates and specifics about getting the books on the BPL website: bpl.org. Register to join by email: southend@bpl.org

In collaboration with Age Strong, BPL will begin offering a shuttle service on November 1st from the South End Branch to the Parker Hill Branch.  It will run on Mondays and Wednesdays and can accommodate 8 people. Pickup is at 10AM at the South End Library.  Return will be at noon.

Reservations are required and can be made here: https://bpl.libcal.com/calendar/19067/shuttle.

The Parker Hill Branch is smaller than the South End Branch and South Enders will receive a warm welcome from the friendly staff as they pick up and drop off books.  To pick up books on "hold" at Parker Hill, go to  bpl.org, sign into your Account, and go to My Settings.  Then select Account Preferences/Hold and Pickup Location/Change.  There you can select Parker Hill and save your selection.  Books on hold will then be sent to Parker Hill and notice will be sent in the usual way when they arrive.  There will be no fees for overdue books.
