A budget official from Governor Deval Patrick's Office will join the discussion about library closings with the South End's state and city representatives at the South End Library on Wednesday, March 24, at 6:30 PM. Under-Secretary Matt Gorzkowicz will be there with Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz, Representatives Byron Rushing and Aaron Michlewitz, City Councillors Bill Linehan and Chuck Turner. At-large councillors will either attend in person or send their representatives. South End Liaison Tabitha Bennett will be at the event, which has been organized by the Friends of the South End Library (FOSEL). In addition, one of the assistant budget directors, Brian Gosselin, hopes to be able to make the
meeting as well. FOSEL has asked the representatives to update South End residents about the short-term prospect of library closings, as well as to explain how South End constituents can assist them to be the most effective library advocates they can be.
